Fort Myers, Florida: The brain is a sex organ
William P. Waldo 504 Medical Center Drive Fort Myers, FL 33901
Love is in the air again: on cable television, in social media, and through peer pressure. Popular songs, poems, and books about love state that love is deeply rooted in the heart. It’s not.
Decades of research have shown that it is our master organ, the brain, which orchestrates the feeling of love by secreting the special chemicals that make romance possible.
This cocktail of love includes brain hormones that have specific roles to play during different stages of love. When one begins to fall in love, the level of adrenaline in the body spikes up making your heart beat faster, the mouth drier, and the body starts to sweat. There is a surge in dopamine levels that triggers intense pleasure, increases energy, and decreases need for food and sleep.
Finally, the level of the neuro-transmitter serotonin drops, leading the subject to start obsessing about a new-found partner which is also observed in people with obsessive-compulsive disorder. In the next phase, the hormones oxytocin and vasopressin are released which bonds partners and are released during sex. Oxytocin, known as the “love hormone”, is also released in mothers during childbirth or is triggered by the sound of a baby crying.
The release of these brain hormones is exquisitely controlled, and not secreted at the sight of just any stranger, thus preventing love catastrophes. There are elaborate mechanisms in place to allow the brain to evaluate if the partner is deemed attractive and worthy of a shot at love. These ingrained evolutionary laws of attraction are exceedingly complex and may rely on sensory cues of sight, sound, and smell.
Psychologists have discovered that both males and females are attracted to certain physical traits. Males tend to find women with a waist narrower than hips (0.7 waist hip ratio) and high-pitched voice more desirable. Women tend to find males with broad shoulders, some facial hair, and deeper voice more attractive. But women also rate non-physical qualities such as intelligence, emotional stability, and friendliness very highly, throwing any supposed laws of attraction into disarray.
Body odour (due to pheromones) of a partner is known to play a critical role in love, attraction, and subsequent bonding. While sniffing a partner may be deemed creepy, many double-blinded studies have shown that both males and females are attracted to partners with an MHC (Major Histocompatibility Complex) – a cluster of genes that determine body odour different from their own. There is evidence that many long-lasting couples have vastly different MHC genes suggesting that the biological compatibility of love may hinge subconsciously on the partner’s smell.
The brain integrates this complex array of conscious and subconscious cues to help people fall in love. But why do we have such vast, multi-layered checkpoints? Perhaps because of the subconscious probability of having a healthy offspring. For example, fertility in women is associated with the same waist-hip ratio that men find desirable. The difference of MHCs between parents may ensure a healthy immune system in children. It is plausible that through the blend of love chemicals and attraction cues, the brain may be tricking us into falling in love to ensure reproduction. And what better way to assure a healthy offspring than from two people in love and committed to one another?
Thus, it is clear that love isn’t blind. Perhaps the peculiar and dramatic behavior seen in love-struck couples may simply be a manifestation of their brains. But wouldn’t it also be nice if someone strummed a song or two about the brain rather than just the heart?
Schaumburg, Illinois: Wilhelm Reich Museum open for season
Kurt B. Willis 1135 Vine Street Schaumburg, IL 60173
According to museum staff, few places in the world combine the intellectual fascination and raw natural beauty of Orgonon, home of one of the 20th century’s most controversial figures, Austrian born physician-scientist Wilhelm Reich.
Now maintained as the Wilhelm Reich Museum, Orgonon is a historic site and nature preserve comprising 175 acres of fields and woodland, a system of trails, a Conference Center, and the Orgone Energy Observatory.
The museum represents the life and work of physicianscientist Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957) and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The collections contain period furnishings, scientific instruments, paintings and works of art on paper, photographic materials, personal items, textiles and library materials. The library contains several thousand published volumes, journals, and reports. Forty-six original paintings by Reich, several original drawings and a Kaethe Kollwitz woodcut, scientific charts, and an original blueprint are also within the museum collections.
Children can explore a hands-on Discovery Room. And the observatory roof provides spectacular vistas of the region’s open skies, lakes, and surrounding countryside.
Reich’s tomb, with its dramatic bronze portrait bust, is in a forest clearing nearby.
A bookstore/gift shop gives access to all Reich’s published work.
The observatory is open in July and August, Wednesday through Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m. and in September, Saturdays only from 1 to 5 p.m. Special tours year-round are available by appointment.
New Braunfels, Texas: The World's Average Penis Size Is Getting Bigger, Apparently
Daniel T. Walton 1018 Farland Avenue New Braunfels, TX 78130
The average penis size is estimated to be 6.1 inches when erect, according to a Millennial sex survey conducted by SKYN Condoms.
That's an inch longer than an international study of 15,000 penises that found the average length to be 5.6 inches back in 2015.
Although, it is worth pointing out the men were allowed to measure themselves and submit the measurements online. Not that we are saying anyone would lie about their size...
The 3,000 sexually active millennials who responded to the survey also said that multiple orgasms were the new normal - with 48% of men and 44% of women say they have 2 or more orgasms during a single session.
Cleveland, Ohio: Why men worry a lot about their penis size
Gary K. Camacho 3011 Sunny Glen Lane Cleveland, OH 44115
With all the social media rants about being serious hung down there, it can be very distracting for guys especially guys don’t know how hung they’re.
And sadly, many of men who don’t have small penises think they do, and that is very weird. People who are well hung are stuck thinking their dicks are little even when ladies they’re with, tell them they’re not little down there. They’re stuck thinking the ladies don’t want to hurt their feelings.
In a study that was done at the University of California, it was discovered that about 85 percent of women are pretty much satisfied with their partner’s dick size. See! It’s not as bad as you think.
Dr. David Alessi, a penis plastic surgeon also weighed in when he spoke with Daily Star Online, “Most men who think they have a small penis actually don’t.”
See, it’s mainly psychological, your dick isn’t as small as you think it is.
“Studies vary, but research suggests that the average erect penis ranges from under five inches to just under six inches.
“Most men who think their penis is too small have penis dysmorphic syndrome and would be better off seeing a shrink and not a surgeon.”
Guys usually just assume other men have bigger dicks than they have, and it is all psychological. It isn’t a common sight where you’ll see other men naked so you can measure how much bigger their members are compared to you. Here it is, not every guy that you know has a bigger dick than you. It’s all in your mind. The only other place that men see dicks openly are in porn movies which is another kettle of fish.

Other reasons why men think they’re penis are small could be the hype of penetrative sex. People often refer to this as the real sex, which involves a lot of penis ‘work’. While other type of sex can still make your partner reach orgasm. Oral sex isn’t seen as the real thing which puts a lot of pressure on the man. A man who already thinks he’s dick is little would have performance issue when he’s about to start a sexual intercourse.
Another reason is the unreal standard that is being portrayed in porn movies. Men who are featured mostly have more than average dicks. The well-hung guys are carefully selected to be in these movies, that doesn’t mean every man around has nine inch dick. Porno movies have standards that cannot be met by everyone.
Because of this, men who like to have sex the same way they see people have it in movies, which is why saying someone fucks like a porn-star is a compliment. Just the same way, people don’t go around having anal sex like you see in porn movies. Porn can be one of the reasons why guys think their dicks are little.
There are other genres of porn where the participants are not required to have big dicks, and those types are called amateur, in those videos you can learn how to use average penis to give the best kind of pleasure.
To close this off, the size of dick matters but it’s not the only thing. The mastery of your dick will go a long way in pleasuring your lady. Big penis can lead to tear, ask ladies about it and you’ll realize, it has a lot of advantages and also that much disadvantages.
Lastly, your penis isn’t as small as you think it is, stop comparing yourself to porn stars, it took a long process to look for, screen and then get those guys to feature.
Worcester, Massachusetts: Tokyo ordinance targeting ‘JK’ dating services takes effect
Orval K. Brown 2468 Kennedy Court Worcester, MA 01608
A new ordinance to regulate dating services that hire teenagers took effect Saturday following its unanimous passage by the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly the previous day.
The ordinance prohibits people younger than 18 from working for such operations.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, this is the first ordinance in Japan specifically targeting the so-called JK business. JK stands for joshi kosei (female high school students).
Violators can face penalties of up to a year in prison or a ¥1 million fine.
In Tokyo, police have confirmed there are 110 JK business establishments and 30 related businesses without any office or facility. Some of these establishments have been known to covertly provide sexual services.
Last week, the U.S. State Department issued the 2017 Trafficking in Persons Reports, and Japan was graded Tier 2 on its four-tier scale, for failing to “fully meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking.”
The reports said variants of the business continue to facilitate the trafficking of children for sex.
